Machine-RAUM -a festival for Video Art and Digital Culture took place for the first time in 2007.
Machine-RAUM consisted of an exhibition at Vejle Art Museum 8.November to 2.December 2007 and
of three festival days the 9.-11 November.
Machine-RAUM showed more both interactive and performative works in city space, screenings, artist talks,
presentations from art academies and design schools from Denmark and Germany and much more.
The first Machine-RAUM festival wanted towards a wide range of people to present the pervasive potential
of video art and digital culture both seen in a historical and forward-looking perspective.
The curators, project manager and concept developer of Machine-RAUM
are Hanne Nielsen and Birgit Johnsen.
At the exhibition at Art Museum of Vejle video works of both Danish and international artists were shown.

During three festival days it was possible to participate in digital works in urban space.
Blast Theory made a virtual and physical work in Midtown : Can you see me now.
The artist collective Assocreation made the interactive Installation Moon Ride.
In an auditorium in Spinderihallerne, Vejle in three intensive seminar days artist talks, films and
performances were presented.
In a video library, the audience had the opportunity to see more works by the participating artists and art students.
There were as well arranged a Cafe and Lounge and a Bace Camp with tents, where cheap or free
accommodation were available.
An intermediate project Outplaced by Hanne Nielsen and Birgit Johnsen included a film team, which daily
uploaded reports, programs and interviews from the festival to 8 Arts Museums in Denmark and different
libraries in the region.
